Though MySpace may have jumped the shark, this song is pretty cute. Sample lyric:

I saw your picture on MySpace
Maybe someday we can turn it into OurSpace, baby
I don't care how long it takes
I'm saving space in my top 8 for you
Then again, maybe I'm being too hard on MySpace. Maybe it's just a cultural difference, as danah boyd explains.

Long live the social network. (I always liked Facebook better.)

From Mashable.com:

We were just recently alerted here at Mashable that January 30th, just a few scant days away, is International Delete Your MySpace Account Day. Cory Geller sent us to a blog post by Simon Owens describing his growing disgust with the constant friend requests from the fembots and the the anonymous birthday announcements, not to mention spam wrapped in a riddle, wrapped in banner ads.

He decided to catalog the many ways in which MySpace had failed him:

1. The only one I became attached to was Facebook and actually, I am embarrassed to say, I visit the site every day.

My affinity for Facebook is a bit of a surpise to me. My original reason for signing up for these networks was because I am interested in the possiblity of online communities for activism.
